It is a private Luxembourg label created and managed by Bio-Vereenegung L\u00ebtzebuerg. It was officially introduced in 2015 as a marketing brand to distinguish organic products from Luxembourg members. The Bio-L\u00ebtzebuerg &#8211; Vereenegung fir Bio-Landwirtschaft L\u00ebtzebuerg a.s.b.l. association itself was founded on 27 February 2012 following the merger of the two founding associations \u2018bio-LABEL\u2019 and \u2018Demeter Bond L\u00ebtzebuerg\u2019. It distinguishes products from local organic farming, produced and processed according to specifications that are stricter than European regulations. The label guarantees that the product comes from farms and holdings located in Luxembourg, thus promoting short supply chains and the local economy.
