he HOLZ VON HIER® (HVH) environmental label is an internationally recognized Type 1 ecolabel in accordance with ISO 14024 and is independently monitored by TÜV. It stands for sustainable products made in a climate-friendly and resource-efficient manner from wood and other renewable raw materials. A defining feature of the label is the exceptionally short transport distances throughout the entire supply chain – the concept of “wood of short distances” – and it ensures that 100% of the raw materials come from responsible sourcing and sustainable forest management. In addition to promoting climate protection, HOLZ VON HIER® makes an important contribution to the preservation of global biodiversity by excluding wood from primary forests and actively supporting ecological and local forestry. Outside German-speaking countries, the label is known as LOW CARBON TIMBER®, with identical standards and requirements.
