The repair guide, through its set of criteria, provides a decision-making tool to assess whether repairing an appliance is worthwhile or whether replacement is the better option, taking into account factors such as cost, energy efficiency, and environmental impact. It therefore serves as a basis for municipalities when designing subsidy schemes and also offers guidance to repair initiatives as well as to consumers.
